About

I’m a journalist and writer from Minneapolis specializing in the arts and pop culture. My features, reviews, and other articles have appeared in The A.V. Club, MSNBC.com, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, Clarkesworld, Momentum, Spaces, The Rake, Request, Memory Lane, City Pages, and elsewhere.

I was the Minneapolis/St. Paul city editor for The Onion A.V. Club from 2004 to 2010, covering the local arts and music scene and contributing frequently to the national section, including the A.V. Club’s 2009 book of pop-culture lists, Inventory, and was nominated for a Minnesota Music Award, Print Media category, in 2006. I’ve also been an associate editor at Rake Magazine (2002-2004), CitySearch.com (1999-2002), and Microsoft Sidewalk Twin Cities (1997-1999). I also co-created, wrote, and produced the radiodrama series Where Threads Come Loose for KUOM-AM.
